Tesla has issued two new recalls affecting over 11,000 Cybertrucks, raising safety concerns among owners. The first recall addresses faulty windshield wiper motors prone to malfunction due to electrical overstress, potentially impairing visibility and increasing collision risks. The affected vehicles, manufactured between November 2023 and June 2024, will require replacement of the wiper motor components to ensure proper function.
The second recall involves a cosmetic issue with the sail applique on the trunk bed trim. Poor adhesive application may cause the applique to detach while driving, posing hazards to other motorists and increasing the risk of collisions. Tesla plans to either replace or rework the applique to secure it firmly in place, affecting Cybertrucks manufactured from November 2023 to May 2024.
These recalls follow earlier issues with the Cybertruck, including problems with accelerator pedal assemblies and software glitches affecting warning indicators. While Tesla assures that new production Cybertrucks have undergone enhanced quality control measures, concerns persist over safety and reliability amidst reports of incidents like unexpected accelerations.
